The 5th annual Okanagan Guitar Festival returns to Kelowna August 6 - 8 with three stellar classical guitar concerts featuring festival favorites, award-winning virtuosos and a teen prodigy. The line up includes Simon Farintosh, Alec Pearson, Vivien Chen, Tejay Liao and Catherine Huo. ‍ ‍

All concerts will be held at the Cathedral Church of St. Michael and All Angels.

Simon Farintosh

Simon Farintosh, award-winning guitarist, composer and educator based in Victoria, British Columbia, performs in this solo recital.
Simon was named one of CBC’s “30 Under 30 Classical Musicians” in 2023. he is known for his unconventional programming choices, connecting with audiences by integrating the classical guitar with more contemporary musical forms such as ambient electronica

Harp & Guitar - Alec Pearson & Vivian Chen

Both plucked string instruments, this program explores the unique sound worlds of the harp and the guitar. These sound worlds are often associated with the ancient, the mythical and the folkloric. Original compositions by the performers play off of these elements and bring the audience something new and never heard before.

Tejay Liao & Catherine Huo (Guitar Fest West 2025 competition winner)

Festival favourite Tejay Liao returns to give the first half of this concert. Tejay’s programming choices are unique, and his playing is often praised as sensitive and technically brilliant.

Catherine Huo is an upcoming guitar prodigy. At the young age of 14, she has already won numerous awards and competitions, beating out young pros in adult categories. Her performance will be inspiring and memorable.
